Kosta Boda Crackle Vase Pink, Medium

The Crackle series is a tribute to cracks, beautifully preserved in glass. This vessel has a sculptural, expressive exterior that is created using an old craft technique, where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. Crackle is mouth-blown in Kosta and designed by Åsa Jungnelius. Crackle defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower's nightmare – cracked glass – its raison d'être. Here it's used to give the object beauty and character. The mold is dug out of clay by hand and the cracked surface is formed using an ancient technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice cold water. The result is a series of objects whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, reminiscent of sculptures made of colored ice. Care Instructions: Hand wash
